Dwayne Johnson, also known as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, is a well-known Hollywood actor and professional wrestler, recognized for his roles in action movies and his fame in WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), formerly known as WWF (World Wrestling Federation). Dwayne is also known as The Rock, which is his ring name in WWE. Earlier, Dwayne used to be a football player on the college football team at the University of Miami, where he was part of the national championship-winning team in 1991. He began his wrestling career in 1996, performing under the name Rocky Maivia, a tribute to his father Rocky Johnson and grandfather Peter Maivia, who were also professional wrestlers. After retiring from full-time wrestling, he came to Hollywood and became one of the highest-paid actors in the world.
Born on May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California, Dwayne comes from a wrestling family background, in which his father and grandfather were both professional wrestlers. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made his film debut in The Mummy Returns, which was released in 2001, where he played the Scorpion King. Later, this role led him to star in his first lead movie, The Scorpion King, released in 2002, which was a huge hit. He is popularly known for his action scenes and muscular physique in Hollywood movies. His roles—Spencer in the Jumanji series, Bob Stone in Central Intelligence, Hobbs in the Fast & Furious series, and Ray in San Andreas—were big hits and made him very popular across the world. Dwayne Johnson is also a successful entrepreneur. He co-founded the film production company Seven Bucks Productions. He also owns a tequila brand, Teremana, and a healthy energy drink, Zoa Energy. In 2020, he also became a co-owner of the XFL, a professional football league.
